Written for younger students who provide services (vs. products) as a business, but has good information that can be modified for older students on the alternate curriculum:

Business Model Canvas app:  I purchased Osterwalder’s Business Model Canvas app (for something like $28.99!).  That’s the app the students used on this website to make their post-it type business model canvas.  It was excellent.  Then the app was terminated (!).   Apps that are similar and highly visual:

Lean Canvas app ($2.99)  Simple, clean.  When you hover over one of the boxes based on Osterwalder’s Business Model Canvas, it will explain what the terms mean, and what to type into the box.  youtube explaining product as it applies to Uber

Design A Better Business app ($3.99).  This app, also based on Osterwalder’s Business Model Canvas, has a lot of post-it postable worksheets relating to starting and maintaining a business, including an ideas board.

Network For Teaching Entrepreneurship (NFTE) (“nifty”) – website.  This organization was founded by Steve Mariotti, a businessman turned Special Education Teacher (yay!).    Featured in the Ten9Eight: Shoot for The Moon dvd.   High quality textbook and workbook (set was around $130) provides a background on how to teach students about entrepreneurs; see what is being presented to general education students, adapt/modify.  Excellent book with vignettes of historical and current entrepreneurs that students can relate to.

Articles discussing idea of providing all students with entrepreneurship education:

Why Entrepreneurship Education K-12, Every Student Every Year?

Forming an Entrepreneurial Mindset in K-12 Students

Entrepreneurship for Kids.  K-12 Entrepreneurial Education in Israel. Website by Galit Zamler.  (full of excellent, super-interesting information!)

Young Entrepreneurs Project, Partners for Youth With Disabilities(has short video featuring student entrepreneurs; interesting program)

Dean Bragonier.  TED TALK:  The True Gifts of a Dyslexic Mind.   Bragonier talks about the power of teaching entrepreneurship, especially to those with dyslexia.  Stresses the importance of introducing entrepreneurship by middle school, when students with dyslexia often feel defeated and turn to unhealthy options.

Biz Kids – website with videos (some might find them obnoxious), but the showcases of young entrepreneurs are good:

There are more videos featuring young entrepreneurs on the Biz Kids site, but links seem to be broken.  Three seasons of BIZ KIDS are listed on Amazon Prime, but I had trouble getting to these particular episodes, which are very good:
